Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day 
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street. 
But the crowd pressed in to see 
The man condemned to die on Calvary. 
 

예루살렘의 비아 돌로로사를 따라 내려가시던 그날 
병사들이 좁은 길을 정리하려고 애썼지요.
하지만 군중들은 갈보리에서 죽을 운명에 처해질 사람을
보려고 서로 밀쳐대고 있었지요. 
 
He was bleeding from a beating, 
there were stripes upon His back. 
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head 
And He bore with every step 
The scorn of those who cried out for His death. 
 
그는 채찍질당해 피 흘리고, 
그의 등에는 채찍 자국들이 나 있었지요. 
게다가 머리에는 가시 면류관을 쓰고 있었고 
그를 죽이라고 외치는 사람들의 조롱을 참으며 
그는 한 걸음씩 내딛고 계셨지요. 
 
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering 
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King. 
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me 
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary. 
 
고난의 길이라 부르는 비아 돌로로사를 따라 
메시야, 왕이신 그리스도께서는 어린 양처럼 오셨지요. 
하지만 그는 당신과 나를 위한 사랑때문에 그 길을 걷기로 택하셨지요 
갈보리까지 이어지는 비아 돌로로사를 따라 내내.
