Eighteen years ago, God called our family to leave behind all that was familiar, move hundreds of miles, and join Presentation Ministries as volunteers. In a small way, I came to learn some of what Abram learned about following the Lord:
18년 전에 하느님께서 우리 가족을 부르셔서 낯익은 것들을 다 버리고 수백 마일 이사가서 Presentation Ministries에 봉사자로 참가하라고 명하셨습니다. 제 생각에는 아브람이 주님의 말씀을 따르면서 알게 된 것을 조금이나마 깨닫게 된 것 같습니다.
• When you step away from what is familiar to you, you allow God to become more familiar to you.
• 우리에게 익숙한 것들을 멀리하면 하느님께서 우리에게 더 가까이 오실 수 있도록 하는 것입니다.
• Before the Lord calls you somewhere, He has already prepared everything for you (Heb 11:16).
• 주님께서는 우리를 어디론가 부르시기 전에 이미 모든 것을 마련해 두셨습니다 (히브 11, 16).
• "All depends on faith, everything is grace" (Rm 4:16). Often God doesn't provide the grace until you step out in obedient faith. Then the grace arrives without fail.
• “약속은 믿음에 따라 이루어지고 은총으로 주어집니다”(로마 4,16). 하느님의 은총은 종종 우리가 믿음으로 순명하여 하느님께 나아갈 때에야 비로소 주어집니다. 그렇게만 하면 은총은 반드시 주어집니다.
• "You have no idea what kind of life will be yours tomorrow" (Jas 4:14). So don't worry about tomorrow (Mt 6:34).
• “여러분은 내일 일을 알지 못합니다” (야고 4,14). 그러므로 내일을 걱정하지 마십시오(마태 6,34).
• Whatever you give up for God's sake and the gospel will return to you a hundredfold in some way (Mk 10:29-30).
• 하느님과 복음을 위해서 무엇을 포기하던지 간에 여러분은 그 보상을 백 배나 받을 것입니다 (마르 10,29-30).
• Though there are personal benefits to obeying God's call, it's not about you. It's about God blessing others through you (Gn 12:3; see 1 Cor 12:7).
• 하느님의 부르심에 따른다는 것이 개인적인 은총이기는 하지만 그것은 자기 자신에 대한 것이 아니라, 하느님께서 우리를 통해 다른 사람들을 축복하는 것입니다(창세 12,3, 참고 1 코린 12,7).
• Jesus is always with you - always (Mt 28:20; Ps 23:4).
• 예수님께서는 언제나 우리와 함께 계십니다 – 항상(마태 28,20, 시편 23,4).
• "Fear is useless. What is needed is trust" (Mk 5:36).
• “두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하십시오” (마르 5,36).
• God's timing is perfect - far better than ours.
• 하느님의 타이밍은 완벽합니다 - 우리보다는 훨씬 더 낫습니다.
• Only in the Holy Spirit is to be found the critically necessary balance between actively stepping out in faith and having the docility to let it be done to you (Lk 1:38).
• 믿음을 갖고 적극적으로 나아가는 것과 그 믿음이 우리에게 이루어지기를 바라는 순종 사이의 절실한 균형은 오직 성령 안에서만 찾을 수 있습니다 (루카 1,38).
