As we conclude the Holy Spirit novena, we are tempted by Satan to be distracted from paying attention to Jesus. For example, Jesus gave the apostles the Holy Spirit on the first Easter Sunday evening, but they did not receive the Spirit because they were preoccupied with fear of the Jewish leaders (Jn 20:19). Then, when Thomas wouldn't believe them about Jesus' resurrection, that may have given them something to talk about, at least for a week. Then Peter and the boys decided to go back into the commercial fishing business (Jn 21:3). There's nothing like work that's not God's will to take our minds off the Lord.
성령강림 9일 기도가 끝나가면서, 사탄은 우리가 예수님께로부터 다른 곳으로 주의를 돌리도록 유혹합니다. 예를 들어, 예수님께서는 첫번째 부활 주일 오후 제자들에게 성령을 주셨습니다만 제자들은 유다인들에 대한 두려움에 사로잡혀 성령을 받지 못했습니다 (요한 20, 19). 그때 토마스가 예수님의 부활에 대해 믿지 못하자, 이 또한 제자들에게 적어도 한 주간은 얘기 거리가 되었을 것입니다. 그리고 베드로와 다른 제자들은 고기 잡으러 나가기로 결정합니다 (요한 21, 3). 하느님의 뜻이 아닌 돈 버는 일만큼 우리의 마음을 주님으로부터 멀어지게 하는 것은 없습니다.
Finally, Jesus seemed to get through to Peter by asking three times: "Do you love Me?" (Jn 21:15-17) Still, Peter was looking back over his shoulder and asking "What about John?" Jesus replied sternly: "Suppose I want him to stay until I come...how does that concern you? Your business is to follow Me" (Jn 21:22). Even then, the disciples made Jesus' comments into a rumor that John wasn't going to die (Jn 21:23). We need the Holy Spirit to empower us to fix our eyes on Jesus (Heb 3:1) and not on Satan's distractions.
마침내 예수님께서 베드로에게 “나를 사랑하느냐?”(요한 21, 15-17)고 세 번 물으실 때 당신의 뜻이 전달되는 듯 보였습니다. 그러나 베드로는 돌아서서 보며 묻습니다. “주님, 이 사람은 어떻게 되겠습니까?” 예수님께서는 엄하게 응답하십니다. “내가 올 때까지 그가 살아 있기를 내가 바란다 할지라도, 그것이 너와 무슨 상관이 있느냐? 너는 나를 따르라”(요한 21, 22). 그때에도 제자들은 예수님의 이 말씀을 듣고 그가 죽지 않을 것이라는 소문을 냈습니다 (요한 21, 23). 우리는 성령의 힘을 받아 예수님께 눈을 고정해야지 (히브 3,1) 사탄에 마음을 빼앗겨서는 안됩니다.

God's will ; 하느님의 뜻. (will 은 여기서는 조동사가 아니라 명사로서 '의지, 뜻')
get through to ; ~과 의사가[뜻이] 서로 통하다. 뜻을 제대로 전달시키다. = make oneself understood to (예문) Yoo, Shi-Min finally got through to President Roh. = Yoo, Shi-Min finally made himself understood to President Roh. (유시민은 마침내 노 대통령에게 자신의 뜻을 이해시켰다. / 마침내 자신의 의향을 전달했다.)
was looking back over his shoulder ; > look back over one's shoulder. (몸 전체를 돌려 뒤를 본 것이 아니라, 몸은 앞을 향한 채 고개만 돌려서) 자기 어깨 너머 자신의 뒤를 돌아보다. 여기서는 예수님께서 베드로에게 "나를 사랑하느냐?"고 질문하시자, 베드로가 어정쩡하게 그 대답을 회피하는 행동을 묘사.
