FAITH FOR 2007

"I have baptized you in water; He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit." ¾ Mark 1:8

 

2007년의 신앙

“나는 너희에게 물로 세례를 주었지만 그분께서는 너희에게 성령으로 세례를 주실 것이다.” ¾ 마르코 1:8

 

"Who, then, is conqueror of the world?" (1 Jn 5:5) Your answer should be: I am the conqueror of the world because I believe that "Jesus is the Son of God" (1 Jn 5:5). After receiving the Lord's grace this Christmas season, our faith in Jesus should be at an all-time high. All the Christ-Masses, carols, celebrations, and presents were intended to help us grow in faith. Faith should be the result of the Christmas season, and we will need this faith for God's victory in 2007.

“세상을 이기는 사람은 누구입니까?” (1요한 5:5) 여러분의 대답은 다음과 같아야 합니다. 제가 바로 세상을 이기는 사람입니다. 왜냐하면 저는 “예수님께서는 하느님의 아드님이심”을 믿기 때문입니다 (1요한 5:5). 이 크리스마스 시기 주님의 은총을 받은 우리의 신앙은 지금 사상 최고여야 합니다. 모든 미사와 캐롤, 축하와 선물이 우리의 신앙을 키우기 위한 것이니 말입니다. 신앙이 크리스마스 시기의 결과물이어야 하며, 우리는 2007년에도 하느님의 승리를 이루기 위해 이 신앙이 필요합니다.

 

Faith is both a gift of the Spirit (1 Cor 12:9) and the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). In the next two days, Jesus wants to baptize us or renew our baptism in the Spirit (Mk 1:8). This will result in ever-increasing faith. If we will only repent (Acts 2:38), thirst (Jn 7:37), ask (Lk 11:13), and obey (Acts 5:32), we will receive the Holy Spirit lavished on us (Ti 3:6) in an unrationed superabundance (Jn 3:34).

믿음은 성령의 은사(1코린 12:9)이자 성령의 열매(갈라 5:22)입니다. 다음 이틀 동안 예수님께서는 우리에게 세례를 주시고 성령 안에서 세례를 새롭게 하고자 하십니다(마르코 1:8). 이를 통해 우리의 신앙은 계속 자라게 됩니다. 우리가 회개하고(사도 2:38), 목말라 하고(요한 7:37), 청하며(루카 11:13), 순종하면(사도 5:32), 우리에게 성령을 한량 없이(요한 3:34) 풍성히 부어 주실 것입니다(티토 3:6).

 

For most of the world, today is Epiphany and the major celebration of the Christmas season. No matter where we live, let's join in the worldwide Christmas celebration and receive a deeper faith by the power of the Holy Spirit. "I have written this to you to make you realize that you possess eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God" (1 Jn 5:13).

세계 대부분의 사람들에게 오늘은 주의 공현이며 크리스마스 시기의 중요한 축일입니다. 우리가 어디에 살든 세계적인 축일을 함께 하고 성령의 힘으로 더 깊은 믿음을 받읍시다. ”내가 여러분에게, 곧 하느님의 아드님의 이름을 믿는 이들에게 이 글을 쓰는 까닭은, 여러분이 영원한 생명을 지니고 있음을 알게 하려는 것입니다”(1요한 5:13).

 

 

at an all-time high all-time은 ‘사상 초유, 전대미문의’의 뜻. 따라서 at an all-time high는 사상최고를 뜻함. at a full-time high로도 표현 가능.

unrationed superabundance  ration은 식량, 연료 등의 일정한 할당량, 배급량을 뜻함. 그 앞 뒤에 un, -ed를 더해 ‘할당량을 정하지 않은’, ‘그 양이 제한되지 않은’의 의미. superabundance 역시 이미, 풍부한의 의미를 갖고 있는 abundance 앞에 super를 더해 그 양의 풍부함을 강조.

no matter where [what, which, who, when, why, how]  비록 어디에 [무엇이, 어느 것이, 누가. 언제, 왜, 어떻게] –할 지라도, -일지라도
