HIDE AND SEE

"Let Me see you." — Song of Songs 2:14

예수님을 피하지 맙시다

“그대의 모습을 보게 해 주오.”—아가 2:14

 

We're hiding from Jesus. He's trying to look at us, but we're hiding from Him — whether it's behind a boulder (Sg 2:14), a sinful, worldly lifestyle, or a veil of fear. It's estimated that almost half of registered Catholics hide from Jesus simply by not showing up at Mass on Sunday.

우리는 예수님을 피하고 있습니다. 예수님은 우리를 보려고 애쓰시지만 — 그것이 바위 뒤 (아가 2:14) 이거나, 죄 많고 속된 삶의 행태이거나, 두려움의 막이거나 간에  — 우리가 그분을 외면하는 것입니다. 교적신자(敎籍信者) 중 절반 가까운 사람들이 주일미사 불참으로 무심코 예수님을 피하고 있는 것으로 추산됩니다.

 

We may be hiding from Jesus, but that doesn't stop Him from looking for us (Lk 19:10). He loves us so much that He came down from heaven to earth to look at us. We might look in a mirror and dislike what we see, but Jesus loves to look at us. He says to each of us: "Ah, you are beautiful, My beloved" (Sg 1:15).

우리가 예수님을 피하는지는 몰라도 예수님이 우릴 찾으시는 것을 그만 두지는 않습니다 (루카 19:10). 그분은 하늘 높은 곳에서부터 우리를 찾아 땅으로 오셨을 만큼 우리를 사랑하십니다. 우리는 우리를 거울에 비친 자신이 혐오스러울 수 있지만, 예수님은 우리를 사랑으로 바라보시며 이렇게 말씀하십니다: “정녕 그대는 아름답구려, 나의 애인이여” (아가 1:15).

 

During the Advent and Christmas seasons, visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Sit and gaze upon the eucharistic Jesus. Now realize that He is also looking upon you. While in His eucharistic presence, read the entire book of Song of Songs. Picture Jesus using the words of the groom to talk directly to you with His words of ardent love (denoted by the letter 'G' in the left margin of some Bibles). Respond to Him by lovingly speaking to Him the words of the bride (denoted by the letter 'B' in the left margin of some Bibles).

대림과 성탄시기 동안 축복된 성사 안에서 예수님을 찾아 뵈십시오. 가만히 앉아서 성체로 계시는 예수님을 응시하면 그분도 역시 나를 바라보심을 느끼게 될 것입니다. 성체 속의 주님 현존을 느끼며 아가서를 읽어 보십시오. 그분의 불타는 사랑의 말씀으로 나에게 직접 들려주시는 신랑의 속삭임을 (일부 성경판의 좌측여백에는 “G”자로 표시됨) 통해 예수님을 그려보며, 사랑스럽게 그분께 드리는 신부의 말로 (일부 성경 좌측여백에 “B”자 표시) 그분께 응답하십시오.

 

Hide from Jesus no longer. Give Jesus the Christmas present He wants. Let Him see your face (Sg 2:14) and tell you how much He loves you. Then love Him in return.

이제 더 이상 예수님을 피하지 마시고, 그분께서 원하시는 성탄 선물을 바칩시다. 나의 얼굴을 봐주시기를 청하며 (아가 2:14) 나를 얼마나 많이 사랑하시는지 알려주시기를 청합시다. 그래서 그 보답으로 그분을 사랑합시다.
