"I will entrust to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven." —Matthew 16:19

 “나는 너에게 하늘 나라의 열쇠를 주겠다.” —Matthew 16:19

 

We as members of the Church hold the keys to the kingdom of heaven. We can attack the gates of hell, which cannot prevail against us (Mt 16:18). We have the power to stop or start, to bind or loose movements and events (Mt 16:19). We can use our authority to loose the Peters of today from prison, death, and sin (Acts 12:5, 7ff).

교회의 지체들인 우리들은 하늘나라의 열쇠를 가지고 있습니다. 우리는 지옥문도 공략할 수 있으니, 저승의 세력도 우리를 이기지 못할 것입니다 (마태 16:18). 우리에게는 신앙운동이나 행사를 시작할 수도 중단할 수도 있고, 매거나 풀 힘이 있습니다 (마태 16:19).  우리는 이 권한으로 오늘날의 베드로를 감옥과 죽음과 죄로부터 풀어줄 수 있습니다 (사도 12:5, 7 이하).

 

We can bind today's Herods and prevent them from destroying God's people. We can be used to turn simple Simons into Spirit-filled Peters, and vicious Sauls into servant Pauls. We have the authority to loose healing and bind sickness, because the sick upon whom we lay our hands will recover (Mk 16:18). We can loose conversion and holiness and bind rebellion and worldliness.

우리는 오늘날의 헤로데를 묶어놓음으로써 하느님 백성들을 멸망시키지 못하게 할 수도 있습니다. 우리는 평범한 시몬을 성령충만한 베드로로, 악한 사울을 주님의 종 바오로로 바꾸는 데 쓰일 수 있습니다. 우리가 병자들에게 손을 얹으면 병이 나을 것이므로 (마르 16:18), 병으로 묶거나 치료로 푸는 권한도 가지고 있습니다. 우리는 폭력성이나 세속화를 통해 묶을 수도 있고 회심이나 거룩함으로 풀 수도 있습니다.

 

We can do more than we have ever asked or imagined (Eph 3:20). Jesus is the Gate (Jn 10:7). Turn the keys.

우리는 우리가 청하거나 생각하는 모든 것보다 훨씬 더 풍성히 이룰 수 있습니다 (에페 3:20). 예수님은 문이시니 (요한 10:7), 열쇠로 엽시다.
