FROM RUNNING OUT TO RUNNING OVER
"There is only a handful of flour in my jar." —1 Kings 17:12
부족함을 넘침으로
“다만 단지에 밀가루 한 줌이 있을 뿐입니다.” — 열왕기 상 17:12
Food was running out for the widow of Zarephath. She knew she had only one meal left before she and her son died of hunger. Hoping against hope (Rm 4:18), she believed God's promises through the prophet Elijah, and saw the Lord multiply her food for a year (1 Kgs 17:16).
사렙따에 살고 있던 과부는 먹을 음식이 다 떨어졌습니다. 자신과 자기 아들이 굶어 죽기 전에 한 번 식사할 음식만 남아 있다는 것을 알고 있었습니다. 그녀는 희망이 없어도 희망하며 (로마 4:18) 엘리야 예언자를 통하신 하느님의 약속을 믿었고 주님께서 음식을 주시는 것을 보게 되었습니다. (1열왕 17:16)
Time was running out for Moses' mother. She knew her baby boy had only moments left to live before he would be found and murdered. Hoping against hope, she prolonged the inevitable by placing her baby boy in a basket on the river (Ex 2:3). God rescued Moses through the most unlikely source: the daughter of the man who ordered Moses' murder (Ex 2:6ff).
모세의 어머니에게는 시간이 없었습니다. 어린 아들이 발견되어 죽임을 때까지 얼마 시간이 남지 않았음을 그녀는 알고 있습니다. 희망이 없어도 희망하며 왕골 상자에 어린 아들을 넣고 강가에 놓아 두는 것으로 피할 수 없는 운명을 연장하였습니다. (탈출 2:3) 하느님께서는 가장 의외의 인물을 통해서 모세를 구하셨습니다. 바로 모세의 죽음을 명령한 이의 딸을 통해서 였습니다. (탈출 2:6 이하 참조)
What is running out in your life? Are your teenage children running out of faith? Is your marriage running out of love? Are you running out of energy, time, or money? When something is running out in your life, that's when the Lord is running to you (see Lk 15:20; Sg 2:8; Wis 18:15).
여러분의 삶에서 부족한 것이 무엇입니까? 여러분의 십대 자녀들이 믿음을 잃어 가고 있습니까? 여러분의 결혼 생활에서 사랑이 사라져 가나요? 힘과 시간, 그리고 돈이 부족하십니까? 무언가 여러분의 삶에서 부족해질 때 바로 주님께서 여러분에게 달려 오십니다. (루카 15:20; 아가 2:8;지혜 18:15 )
Therefore, never run away from your problems. Keep persevering and hoping against hope, right to the very end. "You have no idea what kind of life will be yours tomorrow" (Jas 4:14). The Lord often works wonders for His faithful ones (Ps 4:4) in the final moment (see Jn 2:10). He can change your mourning into dancing (Ps 30:12), your emptiness into fullness (Jn 10:10), and your running out into running over (Ps 23:5).
그러므로 여러분의 문제에서 도망치지 마십시오. 계속 인내하며 희망이 없어도 희망하십시오. 마지막 순간까지 그렇게 하십시오. “여러분은 내일 일을 알지 못합니다.” (야고 4:14) 주님께서는 당신께 충실한 이들을 위해 마지막 순간에(요한 2:10 참조) 자주 놀라운 일들을 행하십니다. (시편 4:4) 그분께서는 여러분의 비탄을 춤으로(시편 30:12), 비어 있음을 가득 참으로 (요한 10:10), 그리고 부족함을 넘침으로 바꾸실 수 있습니다. (시편 23:5)
