WHAT'S YOUR ORDER?

Timing is so critical to God's order. The demons in today's Gospel speak the right word, that Jesus is the Son of God (Lk 4:41), but at the wrong time. Jesus consequently rebukes the demons and does not allow them to speak (Lk 4:41; see also Acts 16:17-18). On another occasion, Jesus healed a leper and commanded him not to speak about the healing (Mk 1:44). The leper ignored Jesus' warning and, as a result, Jesus' plans were hindered (Mk 1:45). Words spoken at the wrong time are destructive. Even if the words are truthful, the lack of order indicates destructive rather than constructive purposes. In fact, speaking out of order derives from pride and foolishness (Sir 20:6).
하느님의 질서에 있어서 때는 아주 중요합니다. 오늘 복음에서 악마는 예수님은 하느님의 아들이십니다(루카 4:41)라고 바른말을 합니다만 부적절한 때에 하고 맙니다. 따라서 주님은 악마를 꾸짖으며 그들이 말하는 것을 용납하지 않습니다(루카 4:41; 사도 16:17-18). 다른 예화에서 주님은 나병환자를 고쳐주며 깨끗이 된 것(마르 1:44)을 말하지 말라고 명령하십니다. 그러나 그 환자는 주님의 경고를 무시하고 이 이야기를 알리고 퍼뜨려 결국 주님의 계획을 방해(마르 1:45)합니다. 부적절한 때에 하는 말은 파괴적인 힘이 있습니다. 진실한 말이라 해도 적절하지 못한 때 한 말은 건설적이기보다는 파괴적입니다. 사실 자만과 어리석음 때문에 부적절한 때에 말하게 됩니다.(집회 20:6)
The Corinthians were also out of order. A few years after their conversion, they were still quarreling and envious (1 Cor 3:3) when they should have been stepping out into ministry and "teaching others" (Heb 5:12ff). Their quarreling words were out of order. Such words are more understandable in a new convert, but inappropriate when spoken years after conversion.
코린토인들도 제 때를 모르는 사람들이었습니다. 개종한 지 몇 년이 지나 “남을 가르치는”(히브 5:12 이하 참조) 교사가 되었어야 할 터인데도, 여전히 시기와 싸움을 일삼았습니다(1코린 3:3). 그들은 부적절한 때에 말을 하여 서로 다투었습니다. 이런 말은 새로운 개종자들에게서나 있을 수 있는 일이지 개종한 지 수년이 지난 이들이 말할 때는 어울리지 않습니다.
The Lord is a God of order (1 Cor 14:33). He sends the Holy Spirit to teach us what to say, how to say it (Jn 12:49), and when to say it (see Mt 10:19). Seek eagerly after prophecy (1 Cor 14:1), which is saying what God wants said at the time He wants it said. There is "a time to speak" (Eccl 3:7) "Like golden apples in silver settings are words spoken at the proper time" (Prv 25:11).
주님은 질서의 하느님이십니다(1코린 14:33). 주님은 성령을 보내시어 우리에게 무엇을 말하고 무엇을 얘기할 것인지(요한 12:49) 그리고 언제 말할 것인지(마태 10:19 참조)를 가르쳐주십니다. 주님이 원하는 것을 주님이 원하는 때에 예언할 수 있는 은사를 열심히 구하십시오(1코린 14:1). “말할 때”가 있습니다(코헬 3:7). “적절한 때에 표현된 말은 쟁반에 담긴 황금 사과와 같습니다”(잠언 25:11).
