GETTING WHAT WE DESERVE

우리가 당당히 받을 몫

 "내가 너희에게 내 마음에 드는 목자들을 보내리니, 그들이 너희를 지식과 슬기로 돌볼 것이다." —Jeremiah 3:15

 

There are so many complaints about our leaders, both political and religious. Some people have not had anyone to vote for in the national elections for years. (However, they've had many people to vote against!) So many religious leaders seem to be stifling the Spirit (1 Thes 5:19). Jesus' description of the Pharisees and scribes as "blind guides" and "whitened sepulchers" still applies today (see Mt 23:16, 27). Leadership in many areas leaves a lot to be desired.

정치든 종교든 그 분야의 지도자들에 대한 불평불만이 많이 있기 마련입니다.  수 년간 선거 때마다 투표할 인물이 없었다는 사람들도 있습니다.  (물론 이런 사람들은 투표할 사람은 없어도 반대하는 사람은 많이 있었습니다!)  따라서 많은 종교지도자들이 성령의 불을 끄려는 듯 보입니다 (1 데살 5:19).  예수께서 바리사이파인들을 “눈 먼 인도자” 그리고 “회칠한 무덤”으로 묘사하셨던 말씀은 오늘날에도 여전히 적용됩니다 (마태 23:16, 27 참조).  많은 지역에서 리더쉽을 너무도 필요로 하고 있습니다.

 

However, the Lord promised to provide good leaders for those who would return to Him (Jer 3:15). Bad leaders are the result of our refusal to repent. Ultimately, we make our own leaders and get the kind of leadership we deserve (cf Jgs 9:8ff). Let's pray for our leaders (1 Tm 2:1-2) and for ourselves. Bad leadership is a partial payment of the wages of our sins (Rm 6:23).

그러나 주님께서는 그 분에게로 돌아올 사람들을 위해 마음에 드는 목자들을 보내주시기로 약속하셨습니다 (예레 3:15).  악한 지도자들은 우리가 회개하기를 거부한 결과입니다.  궁극적으로는 우리가 우리들의 지도자들을 만들어내고 그에 응당한 지도력을 받게 되는 것입니다 (Jgs 9:8 이하 비교).  우리의 지도자들을 위하여 기도합시다 (1 티모 2:1-2) 그리고 우리 자신을 위해서도 기도합시다. 부정(不正)한 지도력은 죄가 응당 우리에게 주는 품삯의 일부입니다 (로마 6:23).
