FAILURE

 "When He comes, however, being the Spirit of truth He will guide you to all truth." —John 16:13

 

선교의 실패

  " 그분 곧 진리의 영께서 오시면 너희를 모든 진리 안으로 이끌어 주실 것이다." —요한 16:13

 

For many, this Easter season has been fantastic. Others have been discouraged. They may feel like Paul after his failure at Athens. When Paul started speaking to the Athenians about Jesus' resurrection, some interrupted and sneered at him. Others brushed him off, telling him to come back some other time (Acts 17:32). Although a few did become believers, this was the worst response in the Bible to Paul's preaching of the gospel.

  많은 사람들이 이번 부활절을 멋지게 보냈겠지만 어떤 이들은 낙담을 했을 것입니다. 그들은 아테네에서 선교에 실패한 바오로와 같은 느낌도 가졌을 것입니다. 바오로가 아테네 시민들에게 예수님의 부활에 관한 복음을 전하는 것을 보고 어떤 사람들은 훼방을 놓기도 하고 비웃기도 했습니다. 어떤 사람들은 아예 그를 무시 하며 다음에 오면 들어보겠다고 말합니다(사도 17:32). 비록 몇몇 사람들만이 신자가 되었지만, 바오로가 복음을 전도한 일 가운데 가장 최악의 결과입니다.   

You may also feel like a failure. You may feel like quitting and going back into the fishing business with Peter (Jn 21:3) or tentmaking with Paul (Acts 18:3). The Lord is not calling you to quit His ministry but quit your discouragement (2 Cor 4:1).

여러분도 실패를 맛볼 수 있습니다.  다 집어치우고 고향에 내려가 베드로와 같이 물고기나 잡으며(요한 21:3) 지내던가 바오로처럼 천막 만드는 일(사도 18:3)이나 하며 지내고 싶은 마음이 들었을 것입니다. 주님은 선교 사업을 그만두라고 여러분을 부른 것이 아니라 그러한 낙담을 그만두라(2 코린 4:1)고 부른 것입니다.  

"For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God bestowed when my hands were laid on you. The Spirit God has given us is no cowardly Spirit, but rather One that makes us strong, loving, and wise" (2 Tm 1:6-7). The Holy Spirit is our Paraclete, Helper, Advocate, the One at our side. We need not focus on circumstances around us but on the Spirit within us. We don't need to change churches, ministries, or spouses. We need the Holy Spirit.

“그러한 까닭에 나는 그대에게 상기시킵니다. 내 안수로 그대가 받은 하느님의 은사를 다시 불태우십시오 하느님께서는 우리에게 비겁함의 영을 주신 것이 아니라, 힘과 사랑과 절제의 영을 주셨습니다(2 티모 1:6-7).”  성령은 우리의 조정자이며 보호자이고 옹호자이며 우리 지지자입니다. 우리는 우리 주위의 상황에 관심을 두지 말고 우리 안에 있는 성령에 집중해야 합니다. 그러므로 교회나 성직자 또는 배우자를 바꾼다고 해결되는 것이 아닙니다.  성령이 필요한 것입니다.
