Love your neighbours one at a time without rushing.

“We must ‘make ourselves one’ with every neighbor perfectly, by cutting away everything that stands in the way.  Many factors can deter this. Sometimes we are distracted.  At other times we have a desire to rush in with our own ideas or give advice at the wrong time. Or we may be hindered by our negative judgments about them.  We might even be harbouring an unconscious desire to win them over to our cause.

It is absolutely necessary to remove and eliminate everything that fills our mind and heart.  Yes, we have to ‘cut away’ in order to be more open, more disposed to love.  We must do some pruning in order to love better.”

우리는 자신이 하고 있는 모든 것을 가지치기 함으로써 모든 이웃과 완벽하게 하나가 되어야 합니다. 많은 요인들이 이것(이웃과 하나가 되고자 하는 것)을 막을 것이고, 때때로 정신이 산만합니다. 다른 때에 우리는 자신의 생각으로 급하게 하거나, 올바르지 않은 때에 조언을 주고자 합니다. 혹은 그것에 대한 부정적 판단으로 방해받을지도 모릅니다. 심지어 우리들의 대의까지도 그것들을 얻기 위해 무의식적인 욕망이 숨어있을지도 모릅니다. 우리의 마음과 정신을 채우는 모든 것들 절대적으로 제거하고 없애야 합니다. 맞습니다. 우리는 보다 사랑하고, 개방하기 위하여 '잘라야' 합니다. 우리는 더 사랑하기 위해 가지치기 해야 합니다. "
