Reflection

At times, the world can be a scary place. Evil manifests itself in hunger, disease, natural disasters, wars and all the ills that plague the human family. Uncertainty and fear seem to dominate everyone's thoughts and actions, isolating country from country, neighbor from neighbor. But all the power of evil  can not overcome the strength of love and faith. Jesus tells His disciples to fear no one or any thing. The love of God is so great that even the hairs on our head are counted. We may be battle-scarred, but we are never defeated.

Faith needs a bold proclamation. In the face of evil, fear, uncertainty and division, Christians must announce the good news, giving examples of courage, faith, love and hope. A fear stricken world will seek peace only when no one has to sleep with one eye open, but everyone can rest securely in  God's peace. Do not fear, because the Lord is near!
