Reflection

The Eucharist is the center of our faith. It is why we do everything else we do. The Eucharist is the reason we build churches, why we pray, why we celebrate other sacraments, and why we exist as a community. Our main purpose and goal is to celebrate and become people of the Eucharist. Joining ourselves to Christ by receiving his Body and Blood is what defines us as his people. We are one with Him and He with us.

Holy Communion should not be something we do because it's part of the Mass. We should approach the Eucharist with our hearts and minds set on receiving the Lord. Jesus Himself comes to us and in that moment of unity, we need to be aware of what we do and who we receive. By joining ourselves to Him, we achieve for the moment faith's goal. We are one with the Lord. That's what it's all about!
