Christ Renews His Parish is a renewal weekend open to every adult member of St. Joseph Church, where you will experience a personal spiritual renewal and an abdundance of love in Christian Community.

 

"Christ Renews His Parish" is a process designed to bring members of our parish together in Christ. The process consists of three parts.

 

The first is a gift of the weekend to you where the opportunity to "come away" from the everyday world for two days of prayer, listening, sharing, fun and food.

 

The second, which is optinal, is your gift to other members of our community. This is where you come together as a new team with the men and women with whom you participated on your weekend, to grow in the light of God and to prepare a weekend for those to follow you.

 

The last is your gift to the world, where you simply take your renewed heart into your everyday life and share your love for God through example and service.

 

The renewal weekend to which your are invited is given for parishioners by parishioners.

A team of parishioners like you, along with a Spiritual Director, have gathered in prayer and love to give this gift to you. They will share with you in a two day, overnight, live-in experience at our parish facilities.

 

Men and women attend separate weekends. This is not a silent retreat. The emphasis is on personal and community renewal. The process is centered on the sharing of God's love by members of the present team and small group sharing in a very liturgical, scriptural and prayerful atmosphere.

 

There will be no pressure on you to talk or share. Sensitivity to you and your needs will always be respected. The renewal process does not come on like a tornado! It brings God's message of love into finer focus and allows you a relaxed atmosphere to respond to Christ's call to closer and deeper relationship with Him and other members of our parish.

 

Accommodations for the weekend are simple. Comfortable air mattresses are provided for sleeping. All meals are prepared for you. If you have special dietary requirements, let us know. Comfortable and casual clothing will be "uniform of the day."

 

Can you afford the weekend? Absolutely YES! While the program attempts to be self-sustaining, we ask that you do not stay away for finacial reasons. Donations are welcomed and always kept anonymous.

 

Sacraments are part of the experience. Mass is celebrated and Reconcilation is available with our parish and some visiting priests.
