As I stand by the pier

May you guide the fearful 
sailor like the star of the sea

This place is not the same without you

Where you ran here as a child

맑은 날 해질 무렵 
나는 부두에 서서 
건너편의 Buncrana와 Dunree를 바라봅니다.

 
전에도 여러 번이나 그러하였듯이 
아, 별이 되신 Bhrian이여 

나는 오늘도 당신이 바다 위의 별과 함께 
천국에 거하기를 하느님께 기도합니다.

 
부디 깊고 깊은 바다의 품 안에서 
평화롭게 잠드소서.

 
당신의 생명을 빼앗아 간 바다가 
이제는 당신을 자유롭게 놓아 주기를 간구합니다. 

이제는 당신이 하늘의 별이 되어
캄캄한 밤에 높은 파도로 두려움에 떨고있는 
뱃사람의 길을 안내해 주소서.

 
난 수없이 당신을 생각해 왔습니다. 
당신이 없는 세상은 
당신과 함께 했던 세상이 아닙니다 .

부디 당신의 영혼이 편안히 쉬기를 
당신의 아이들이 은총 중에 있기를 
우리의 기억 속에 영원히 살아 있기를 

어릴 적 당신이 뛰어 놀던 이곳에서 
당신의 영혼도 자유롭게 맘껏 뛰놀기를 
당신이 바다의 별이 되어 당신의 그 미소로 
천국을 환하게 비쳐주기를 간구합니다.
