오는 11월 6일 UW-Madison School of Music 에서 후원하는 타악기 공연이 있어서 알려드립니다.
한국에서 오는 연주팀은 APE (Akademie Purcussion Ensemble) 이라는 팀인데 아래 press release 에 따르면 미국 공연은 이번이 처음이라고 합니다. 미국 연주팀은 GP (Galaxy Percussion) 입니다.
메인 이벤트는 11월 6일 (일) 오후 2시, Mills Hall (Humanity Building 안에 있는) 입니다.특별히 타악기 음악에 관심있는 사람들을 위해 토요일에는 master class 와 presentation 이 있다고 합니다.
아래는 presentation 및 연주 일정입니다. 현대 타악기 음악을 접하는 좋은 기회가 될 것 같습니다.

The University of Wisconsin School of Music presents a free concert by APE (the Akademie Percussion Ensemble) of Korea with Galaxy Percussion – USA in a festive thought provoking concert of cross-cultural contemporary music from both sides of the Pacific Rim. APE, an exciting and accomplished young professional group, has appeared in Japan and Switzerland prior to this, their first USA Tour. Galaxy Percussion joined APE in their highly acclaimed 2010 Korea Fest Tour and now it’s time for our Greater Madison audiences to enjoy the exciting music composed by currently active American and Korean contemporary composers. The one exception is Galaxy Percussion’s tribute to the late American Iconoclastic visionary composer, John Cage, with their performance of the percussion movements from Amores (1943) blended with readings from his book, Silence (1961). APE and Galaxy Percussion will also join forces in their combined presentation of works by Galaxy members Roger Braun and Michael Udow. Galaxy will also present music from Brazil - arranged by Braun and Galaxy colleague, Anthony DiSanza. The accomplished Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music percussionist, Jamie Ryan, fills out the Galaxy Percussion quartet. There are no required tickets for this complimentary concert so come early to make certain you have primo seats for this Inter-link 2011 USA Tour event.
