Dear recipients of “Heart to Heart”,
I recently wrote to each member of the outgoing College of Consultors to thank them for their dedicated assistance to my predecessor as Ordinary and, more personally, for the part they played in my own taking of canonical possession of the Diocese in that memorable liturgy of November 8th., 2010. My appreciation for them is genuine and I want them to know the “ex corde”.
I am pleased to announce that I have established a new College of Diocesan Consultors, who shall, for the next five years and under my presidency, assume the functions determined in the Code of Canon Law. I express my gratitude to these priests and my particular appreciation of their readiness to assume the additional responsibilities involved in this important office. I ask each of you to publish the following list to the People of God locally in the manner you deem appropriate. Work is proceeding on the revised Diocesan Directory which will list any and all further appointments and will be published in due course.
