천국에 가는 옷
“나는 주님 안에서 크게 기뻐하고 내 영혼은 나의 하느님 안에서 즐거워하리.” —이사야서 61:10
The third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete Sunday, or Rejoice Sunday. Turn off the football games; put off that trip to the mall; set aside the Christmas decorations. It's time to "rejoice in the Lord"! (Phil 4:4)
대림 제 3 주일은 가우데떼 주일 또는 기쁨의 주일이라고 부릅니다. 축구중계를 끄고, 쇼핑도 삼가고, 크리스마스 장식도 잠시 멈춥시다. “주님 안에서 기뻐할” 때입니다! (필리 4:4)
On Christmas, many people receive various articles of clothing as presents: ties, socks, sweaters, and warm winter clothes. Today, God has better clothes to give us: garments of praise. He puts a crown on our heads to cast off grief (Is 61:3). To get us in that Christmas rejoicing spirit, God gives us a shirt of justice and a robe of salvation (Is 61:10). He gives us a winter coat, a "glorious mantle" which gets rid of any "listless spirit" of complacency over Jesus' Christmas coming (Is 61:3). Because it is God Who gives us the garments of praise, everything is just the right size. Our rejoicing clothes are custom-made by God to be a perfect fit. Now, with Mary, we can sing: "My spirit finds joy in God my Savior" (Lk 1:47).
크리스마스가 되면 사람들은 넥타이, 양말, 스웨터, 방한복 같은 여러가지 종류의 피복류(被服類)를 선물로 받습니다. 오늘, 하느님께서 우리에게 주시기 위해 준비하신 더 좋은 옷은 바로 칭찬의 옷입니다. 하느님께서는 슬픔을 버리라고 우리 머리에 화관을 씌워 주셨습니다 (이사 61:3). 크리스마스의 기쁨을 주시려고, 하느님께서는 우리에게 구원의 옷을 입히시고 의로움의 겉옷을 둘러 주셨습니다 (이사 61:10). 또한 성탄절의 예수님 오심과 함께 자만(自滿)에 빠진 “냉담한 마음”을 남김없이 없애주는 “기쁨의 망토”라는 겨울코트를 주십니다. 칭찬의 외투를 입혀주시는 분은 하느님이시므로, 각자에게 딱 맞는 사이즈로 주십니다. 우리의 기쁨의 옷은 완벽한 맞춤을 자랑하는 하느님의 주문제작품입니다. 자, 성모님과 함께 노래합시다: “내 마음이 나의 구원자 하느님 안에서 기뻐 뛰네” (루카 1:47).
When Jesus comes this Christmas, we must be wearing the right clothes to greet Him. Once Jesus told a parable about the heavenly wedding feast. A man was found who was "not properly dressed" (Mt 22:11). He was cast outside, to wail and grind his teeth for eternity. So, we'll be making noise forever. Will we be wailing in hell or rejoicing in heaven? Decide today. Put on God's clothes and "rejoice heartily in the Lord" (Is 61:10).
이번 크리스마스에 예수님이 오실때, 우리는 그분을 환영하는 데 맞갖은 옷을 입고 있어야 할 것입니다. 예수님께서는 하늘나라의 혼인잔치에 대한 비유를 말씀하신 바 있습니다. “혼인예복을 입지 않은” (마태 22:11) 사람은 바깥 어둠속으로 내던져져 영원히 울며 이를 갈 것이고, 우리는 끝없이 그 소란을 들게 될 것입니다. 여러분은 지옥에서 울겠습니까 아니면 천국에서 기뻐하겠습니까? 오늘 결정합시다. 하느님의 옷을 입고 “주님 안에서 크게 기뻐합시다” (이사 61:10).
