라틴어 Via Dolorosa는 ‘슬픔의 길’이라는 의미로 빌라도 법정에서 골고다 언덕에
이르기까지 예수가 십자가를 지고 골고다로 향해 걷던 약 800 m 의 길을 말한다.
어려서 소프트 볼 선수였고 또 보칼리스트로도 활약한 Sandi Patti가 영화
'나자렛 예수'에서 이 곡을 불러 널리 알려졌다. 그녀는 1986년부터 활동을 하면서
약 20여 년 동안 39번의 도브상과 5번의 그래미 어워드 수상과 함께 그녀의
앨범 중 3개의 앨범이 플래티넘(100만장) 기록하고 5개의 앨범이 골드(50만장)
판매를 기록한 화려한 경력의 CCM 계의 디바다.
