Jn 3:13-17


Jesus said to Nicodemus:
"No one has gone up to heaven
except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert,
so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.

하느님은 이 세상을 극진히 사랑하셔서 외아들을 보내 주시어 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영원한 생명을 얻게 하여 주셨다. 하느님이 아들을 세상에 보내신 것은 세상을 단죄하시려는 것이 아니라 아들을 시켜 구원하시려는 것이다.
