Monsignor David A. Lockard who writes the column is on vacation this week:

 

Msgr. Lockard’s Vacation - That sounds like the title for a report for the first week of school, but it is something more serious. I am going to follow the advice of our Holy Father and take a vacation this year. I’ll be leaving after the 7:00am Mass on Monday, Aug. 15. Fr. George tells me he will be “just fine “til I return on Sept. 2. Msgr. Saylor will help with the weekend Mass schedule and confessions.

 

     During the week of Aug. 28., Fr. Boniface will offer the early Masses. However, I was unable to find a priest to help Fr. George with the weekday Masses during the weeks of Aug. 14 & 21. After consulting with the Pastoral Council, I decided to enlist the help of deacons to celebrate Holy Communion services on those days. This is not meant to replace Mass, but to enable people who work to be able to receive our Lord in Holy Communion during the week. So the schedule during my vacation is:
