A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest,
"I almost had an affair with another woman."
한 기혼 애란남자가 고백성사를 보러와서 신부님께 말하길..
”저가 다른 여자와 거의 혼외정사를 할 뻔 하였습니다.”

The priest said, "What do you mean, almost?"
신부님이 묻기를 “무슨 말이요? 거의란?”

The Irishman said, "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together,
but then I stopped."
남자가 대답하길 ”우리는 옷을 벗고 둘이서 비볐으나,
거기서 멈추었습니다.”

The priest said, "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in.

You''re not to see that woman again.

For your penance, say five Hail Mary''s and put $50 in the poor box."
신부님이 말하길 “둘이서 비빈거나 넣은거나 마찬가지요.  

다시는 그 여자를 만나서는 안되오.  
참회로 성모경(註: 기도문 중의 하나)을 다섯번 바치고 그리고

(註: 가난한 이를 위한) 모금함에 50불을 넣고 가시오.” (註: 돈 넣고 가라는건 천주교 풍습이 아님, 단지 조크임)

The Irishman left the confessional, said his prayers,

and then walked over to the poor box.
He paused for a moment and then started to leave.
화란 남자는 고해소를 떠나 신부가 시킨대로 기도를 바치고

헌금함에 잠시 들린후 떠났다.

The priest, who was watching, quickly ran over to him saying,

"I saw that. You didn''t put any money in the poor box!"
그를 지켜 보고있던 신부님이 급히 그에게 달려와서 “내가 보니까 헌금함에 돈을 집어 넣지 않았소!”

The Irishman replied, "Yeah, but I rubbed the $50 on the box,

and according to you, 
that''s the same as putting it in."
남자가 대답하길 “네~, 헌금함에 50불을 비볐습니다.  신부님이 비빈거는 넣은거랑 같다고 했지 않습니까”
