English Bible Study @ St. John's Church, Pundang

 

To my dear friends:

 

A. The main reason why we provide this Cafe is two folds:

 

1. to provide Korean Catholics with Catholic-related important English literatures through Internet environments for both English Bible Study and Catholic Catechism;

 

2. to develop a new study method and guidance of English Bible Study for Catholics.

     To help you with the first purpose above, I will provide some Korean comments/explanations for each English homepage address provided in this Cafe, once I have some spare time for it.

 

But, you'd better spend your own time in trying to figure out what kinds of materials are covered by which internet sites provided in this Cafe, for I cannot take care of everything for you, unless you request me what you would like to know explicitly.

 

     For our second purpose described above, you may try those in the submenu "Sorted Gospels" under the menu "Gospels & Homilies".

 

If you enter there, you will find that quite many chapters of the Gospel of St. Mark are provided in a proper order together with audio files for corresponding Catholic homilies according to Liturgical Calendars for Catholic Church.

 

     Even though only six months of very recent Lectionaries are collected in the submenu called "Mark <--- 자료있음", you can have a new and unique experience in English Bible Study by

 

(i) first hearing First Reading (and perhaps Second Reading), Psalms, certain chapter(s) of Gospel of Mark, and then

 

(ii) finally hearing Catholic homilies provided by native American-English speaking Catholic priests.

 

Remark: These audio files are all recored from everyday "Daily English Mass" of a highly reliable and well-known Catholic Chapel in U.S.A.

 

Here is about How To Do:

 

For an audio Lectionary hearing, you simply click the attached file with extension, .ram . [This requires RealAudio Deck installed in your PC.] 

 

By clicking the attached .ham file with the right button of your Mouse, you can actually read the texts of Lectionary, corresponding to the audio Lectionary hearing you selected. [This requires more explanation, but I do believe that you can figure out the rest of the details by yourself.]

 

It is my regret that no texts or scriptures for English homilies are provided.

 

B. Whenever you need, you may use Merriam Webster's OnLine Dictionary for your own convenience, which is under the menu called, "사이트링크".

 

     Using English-English Dictionary only is really important not only for catching some English vocabularies quite efficiently but also for acquiring more cultural experiences/backgrounds through English literature readings in general.

 

C. If anyone wants to refer to those Protestant-oriented English literatues provided here, then he/she needs to become a member of this Cafe. I have enough reason why this policy is mandatorily required in our Cafe.

 

I hope this gives you some idea for how to utilize those internet data collected in this Cafe.

Step 1. If you are already a member of 굿뉴스, then go to Step 2.
